Frequently Asked Questions

How much does band cost?

Our band dues are typically about $325 per school year which are split into monthly payments. Students do have opportunities to participate in fund raisers to help with their band costs. We don't ever want a student to not participate in band for financial reasons. Please reach out to the boosters should you or your student need assistance.

Can I participate in both band and other extracurricular activities?

Yes, just make sure you organize your schedule and communicate with Mr. Barrett often.

Is there an option to only join the concert band?

Yes. Concert band is only offered during the spring semester. Your fee is only for the trips you want to attend.

How often does the band practice?

During the fall semester, practice is after school from August to November. During the spring semester, practice is during the school day and after school rehearsals may be scheduled when needed for upcoming parades and/or events.

If I have never played an instrument, can I join the band?

Yes, however, you will need to have some background in music to be successful (chorus, violin, piano, private lessons, etc). For the color guard, all you will need to do is try out.
